Why I chose the novels
The Journey Of The Peasant Mother-in-Law
This novel is the first one, and the reason why I started this blog. I have read this one at least 3 times, to the end. It is long but so engrossing that you can’t stop reading. The ML and FL are a perfect couple; they are transmigrators but don’t go about bringing the modern world into the old just like that. They don’t underestimate the people of the era, and if they say or do something, they make sure they do it in such a way that it looks normal to the others. The ML especially has a lot of growth. At the beginning, he is not at all attached to his “children,” but little by little, he grows into the role of being a father. He sometimes forgets that he is in a different era and behaves like a modern person. But he ultimately is very intelligent and knows how to use that. The FL, on the other hand, is someone who watches silently while doing her job and very rarely slips from her “character.” She is business-savvy and the main reason for the financial growth of the family.
There are a lot of characters; the main family is large, with 4 sons and 2 daughters as the story starts. There are grandsons, granddaughters, friends, and colleagues; at times it is challenging to keep track of who is who. However, none of the characters are one-dimensional; each of them changes and grows as their families change their circumstances. My favorite is, of course, the first daughter-in-law, Li Shi, and also the fourth one. The Emperor is another of my favorite characters because he is pragmatic, forceful, and a really good person. I won’t say he was a good husband or father, because he was ultimately very biased towards his main wife and his eldest son. The Small Canteen Of Dali Temple
This is a perfect balance of food-themed and detective novels. I don’t know how long I will continue translating it, because the original is still ongoing and is now around 1150+ chapters!! But the urge to go on is strong, as the dishes mentioned are great, and so are the intricacies of the cases. The FL is also a transmigrator; however, what is different in this book is that you don’t read from the moment she transmigrates. The book opens when she has been in this world for nearly 10+ years and is well-adjusted to her situation. She is a great cook, and apart from cooking, she doesn’t really bring anything modern to the story. The ML is one of those silent but deeply romantic guys. He is a foodie and a great detective. My favorite characters include the Dali Temple officials like Liu Yuan, who are always waiting for our FL to cook a new dish.
After Dressing Up As An Outside Room, I Just Want To Farm
Cooking and farming are my favorite genres, and I picked this one up because I thought both would be there. Don’t get me wrong, there is plenty of cooking, but very little farming! At best, it can be called a business novel, as the FL opens one business after another. This also has a transmigrated character, and she has both cooking and medical skills. She seems OP from time to time, but nothing over the top. What I find best is how oblivious she is about the ML’s true nature and how hell-bent she is on thinking he is gay!! I have not read the novel in full; I am reading with you, and until now she has not understood that the ML is interested in her. The ML is also a foodie and someone silent but lethal in the execution of his plans. So, let’s read together and see how the story ends.
I Was A Famous Teacher Of Ancient Times
This is, until now, the last novel I have picked up for translation. It is the same author as Journey, and there are quite a few similarities between the two. In both, the couple are transmigrators, and ironically, the surnames of the ML and FL are the same in both novels!! Now, the difference: this one is unique because, in a way, the main pair transmigrates and has a rebirth!! In their first life, they die tragically and are reborn in the modern world. The ML retains his memory, which is why he was not very close to his modern-world family and was very eager to learn new things. The FL doesn’t, and she has a happy family. It is only at the end of their life in the modern world that she remembers her old life. Then they die together and are reborn right on the day their tragedy began. So, they are unique because they have both modern and ancient knowledge!! And they fully utilize that and help a great hero become the Emperor. It is also very engrossing, and you can’t stop once you start reading.

Another rebirth novel, and the heroine had a really tragic life. This motivates her to take fate into her own hands and succeed. The ML is unique because he is a doctor, and most importantly, he is being sexually harassed by the older Empress!! Yes, this story is proof that sexual harassment is often related to power, and men can also be victims. Happy ending, so read without fear. Transmigrator FL, but again not an OP one. She is good in business, and the story is focused on that, apart from fleeing war. The ML really has limited presence. If you like a story about building a life slowly from scratch and how ordinary people’s lives are affected by wars and displacement, read this novel. 2 chapters are unlocked each week.
How To Divorce The Prime Minister
Ok, I will share a secret: I like angsty novels. This one is one of the best I have read in that category. Be ready to cry and use tissues, as the story of FL will move even the most cynical reader. The ML is a villain, and not the ML. There is no ML in that sense. Not a happy ending, but a good ending. So, read with caution. 2 chapters unlocked every week.
Where To Find The Fragrant Pavilion
It is known as Seeking Fang Ting on NovelUpdates, and I love this one. The premise of the book is also unique because there is a book transmigrator. Have you ever asked yourself, when reading such a book, what happens to other characters when there is someone who knows the story and acts all OP? Well, this book will answer it for you. The FL feels she is the only normal one in an abnormal world, and to a certain extent, she is right. That is because everyone is following the script of the book, no matter how illogical it is!! 2 chapters are unlocked every week.
My only completed translation work so far. The story is superb, short, and ends well. There is transmigration to the primitive world, but not from the modern world, but from an ancient world!! The FL is a primitive girl, and so, so cute. It is totally free and complete, so enjoy!!
