Hi,
First, let me say sorry for being inactive these few days. My son’s pre-board exam is going on. This is an exam that determines whether he can sit for his school leaving exam next year. Hence I am busy with him, as well as my eldest who is home for semester break.
And just yesterday I got the news that my Eldest Maternal Uncle has passed away. He was more a father to my mother than brother because my mother lost her father when she was just 1 year old. His home has always been the “maternal home” or “mama bari” as well call it in our language. It was the place were we cousins gathered every summer holiday for all the funs. My “mama” was looked strict and spoke very less, but he loved all his nephews and nieces very much.
Most of my cousins especially my female cousins were afraid of him, which I guessed they inherited from their father/mother because my eldest uncle always was strict with his siblings. The man was responsible for his younger brothers (2) and sisters (2), which included my mother just one year old, when he was just 16! And if know the history of India, you will know that we faced a partition when we got freedom, and my maternal family was originally from present-day Bangladesh. They had to immigrate to India as they were Hindu and most Hindu family, including their landlord left the village after partition.
My maternal family came here in 1950 and started a new life. Just 7 years later, my grandfather died. My mother was the only among her siblings who was born in present-day India.
So, you can say I am very down emotionally at this moment. I will try to post as much as possible when winter holiday starts after 24th, before that, I will try to post when I can.
Hope you will be back to read and support me. As for those who paid for the advanced chapters, I am sorry for not posting regularly this month. I will try to post at least later this week.
Lastly, a very Merry Christmas to my readers who are celebrating this beautiful holiday.
